About SpeedyBase
Built by collectors, for collectors.
The Idea
SpeedyBase started as a simple question: why is so much Speedmaster knowledge scattered across forums, blogs, auction archives, and out-of-print books? The information exists — it is just hard to find, harder to cross-reference, and nearly impossible to trust without deep experience.
So we built an encyclopedia. Not a magazine, not a marketplace, not a social network. A structured, searchable, cross-referenced database of everything known about vintage Omega Speedmaster Professional watches — from the first CK 2915 in 1957 through the 145.022 and beyond.

Go →How Verification Works
Unverified
A watch entry exists in the registry but has not been cross-referenced against known data. This is the starting point for any new submission.
Verified
Key details (serial number, reference, calibre) have been confirmed against at least one independent source — extract, auction record, or expert assessment.
Documented
Full provenance chain established with supporting evidence: extract, service history, auction records, and/or expert authentication. The highest confidence tier.
Evidence, Not Opinion
Every claim in SpeedyBase is backed by a cited source — an auction record, a published reference, an expert article, or a verified community submission. We do not publish speculation as fact. Where data is uncertain, we say so explicitly. Where experts disagree, we present both positions. The goal is to help you make informed decisions, not to tell you what to think.
How We Use Third-Party Content
SpeedyBase aggregates publicly available information from auction houses, published references, and community contributions. We link back to original sources wherever possible and do not reproduce copyrighted content in full. If you are a content creator and believe your work is being used inappropriately, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
Not Definitive
SpeedyBase is an encyclopedia, not an authority. We aggregate, structure, and present information from multiple sources — but we are not infallible. Production records are incomplete. Experts sometimes disagree. New discoveries can overturn established knowledge. Use SpeedyBase as a starting point for research, not as the final word. Always consult multiple sources and, where possible, have important watches physically inspected by a qualified expert.
